These objectives form the main focus of the organisation's Annual Programme of work: Ensure CANEGROWERS is the duly mandated representative of all cane growers in South Africa, Be effective visionary and innovative leaders within the diverse cane growing communities, Ensure that all cane growers are able to recieve fair value for all the components of the sugar cane plant, Provide appropriate services to enhance the sustainability of all cane growers, Provide effective protection of growers' interests through lobbying, advocacy and communication, Ensure unity of growers through appropriate structures.,Grain SA was established on 10 June 1999 and was formed out of NAMPO (maize), NOPO (soybeans, sunflower and groundnuts), the WPO (wheat, barley and oats) and the SPO (grainsorghum).,Key Strategies of the Citrus Growers Association is: to gain and retain market access, to set standards for fruit and quality, to fund and control research and development, to drive industry transformation, to represent the growers, to communicate effectively and to optimise the structure of the C.G.A.,Our mission is to lead the development of a profitable and sustainable industry in the common interests of members through technical and marketing innovation.,SA Olive Objectives: To act as the national mouthpiece for the Olive Industry in SA/ To foster, encourage and safeguard the interests of members/ To collect, compare and distribute relevant information regarding the Olive Industry in general to members/ To render and/or obtain assistance for members by collective representation/ To deal with any matter that may be in the interests of members and the local Industry/ To liaise and co-operate with Government Departments, the Agricultural Unions and other allied bodies in the interests of the Olive Industry/ To assist in creating a positive climate in which members can conduct their marketing and promotional activities and to do whatever is necessary and proper to facilitate the achievement of the above.,SAAGA's Vision is to grow its status as a world class supplier of avocados to the global and domestic market.,The production and market information provided by the DPO remains of great value to the producer - as long as it is presented in a pro-active manner and leaves sufficient room for the producer to make his/her own decisions. The DPO contributes financially to a dry bean research program of the Grain Crops Institute of the Agricultural Research Council. Of particular importance has been the development of a number of excellent new dry bean cultivars. The DPO is involved in the marketing of dry beans via Beanex which plays a significant role in the present marketing of the product. It is believed that the Beanex transactions have contributed to a measure of stability in the dry bean market. The main benefit producers derive from Beanex transactions, is guaranteed payment. The buyer, on the other hand, enjoys a measure of quality assurance. South African dry beans have, over the years, been exported with success to countries all over the world. A promising market for the local product exists particularly in Africa. High quality seed is the foundation of dry bean production. The DPO has over the past 20 years managed to breed promising new dry bean cultivars in cooperation with the Grain Crops Institute of the Agricultural Research Council.,The Tomato Producers' Organisations objectives are: to maintain a national representative body in respect of all tomato interests in which all tomato producers and stakeholders can participate/ to act on behalf of the members in consultations regarding decisions which affect their interests/ to deliver coordinated views to the Government and authorities on matters relating to the members and the tomato industry and to co-operate in all matters relating to the welfare of the tomato industry, solving problems and the establishment of the necessary laws and regulations/ to strive for the most efficient production and marketing of tomatoes/ to develop the tomato industry systematically, including preservation of resources (land and water), the maintenance and improvement of soil fertility, production and marketing methods/ to affiliate and cooperate with other agricultural organizations/ not to be influenced by political considerations in achieving the said goals or business of the Organisation/ to establish and maintain, through collective action, appropriate facilities and services for the members of the Organisation and, for this purpose, to organize the tomato industry and to create the necessary service programs/ to operate the TPO's business without profit making as an objective and to invest any surplus funds in the promotion of the Organisation's objectives/ not to trade in competition with its members or to participate in any business, professional - or any professional activities of any of its members - or to support any of its members financially or otherwise in their carrying on a business, trade or profession/ to recruit actively members for the TPO amongst tomato producers, irrespective of them being established producers or new producers/ to cultivate and promote unity and a spirit of cooperation among tomato producers/ to establish and maintain a healthy understanding between the members and other stakeholders/ to strive to serve the interests of members in all areas of production/ and to concentrate entirely on the promotion of its main and only purpose.,The vision of Potatoes South Africa is to play a leadership role in sustainable potato production in South Africa. As our name says, we represent South Africa's cactus pear growers/ the farmers who make every effort to plant and harvest only the best South African cactus pears. We were established in 1978 with the common goal of serving, protecting and promoting the interests of the South African cactus pear industry both here at home and abroad. We also help our farmers on various levels, by providing practical technical, marketing and legislative support. As SACPGA we are committed to quality, sustainability and good agricultural practices.,Chicory SA is situated in Alexandria, Eastern Cape, on the Sunshine Coast of South Africa. The chicory industry is a major employer in this agricultural area. GSA is built on four pillars: GSA is a voluntary association of grain farmers established to represent the interests of its members. SA Olive members consist of olive growers, olive oil producers, table olive producers, tree nurseries and olive importers. The CGA represents the interests of the producers of export citrus. In total approximately 1400 growers throughout Southern Africa (including Zimbabwe and Swaziland) are members of the Association. Market access is the cornerstone of the citrus industry - particularly access to the more lucrative markets (USA, EU and Far East). Research is considered the primary function of the Association. The Citrus Growers Association will maximise the long-term profitability of its members by: Providing the industry with access to global markets, Optimising cost effective production of quality fruit, Continual commitment to research, development and communication with all stakeholders, Caring for the environment and the community within which we operate.,The Dry Bean Producers Organisation (DPO) was established at a congress on 11 August 1993 in Potchefstroom at a time when the deregulation of agriculture took place on a large scale. The DPO was the first farmers organisation to be established when the marketing boards were abolished. The industry-related services which the DPO renders to the dry bean producers represent the foundation upon which the DPO has been established. With due consideration of changing expectations of the producers and their increasing access to information the past couple of decades, the DPO has to continuously strive to adapt to a changing market environment and remain in touch innovatively. The DPOs product and market research go hand in hand with consumer preferences and the value added to stimulate the demand for dry beans as a commercial commodity and preferred food source.,The South African Cane Growers' Association (CANEGROWERS) is the national organisation representing South Africa's sugar cane growers. The South African Cane Growers' Association (CANEGROWERS) was established in 1927. CANEGROWERS represents the the interests of all cane growers, regardless of size or enterprise. CANEGROWERS will play a leading and unifying role in protecting, communicating and serving the interests of all cane growers. Our Vision is to secure a sustainable South African cane growing sector that maximises the value of sugar cane in an agro-industrial environment.,The Southern African Macadamia Growers' Association (SAMAC) is comprised of macadamia nut growers, processors and marketers. Our goals are to: Act in the common interests of our members, Determine technical research needs, Continually improve technology transfer and support and communication mechanisms, Increase technical and marketing interest studies and research, Establish generic market development programmes both locally and abroad that will increase consumer demand to meet increased supply.,The Tobacco Institute of Southern Africa ("TISA") is the industry body for the tobacco industry in South Africa and our mandate and reach extends into the region. TISA represents tobacco growers, leaf merchants, leaf processors, manufacturers, importers and exporters of tobacco products in South Africa. The Tobacco Institute of Southern Africa (TISA) was formed in 1991 to represent the non-commercial, common interests of both the manufacturers of tobacco products and tobacco growers. The Tobacco Exchange and the Tobacco Board evolved in 1996 to become Tobacco RSA. This body represents the primary industry in South Africa, i.e. growers, leaf dealers and processors.,The Tomato Producers' Organisation is a trade organization which acts as a mouthpiece for the producers of fresh tomatoes in South Africa.
